Built over 206,000 m2, Santa Fe shopping mall is reminiscent of a spaceship or small city.
But, despite offering 427 brand name stores over 5 floors, the absence of people carrying shopping bags is striking.
That’s because many people visit Santa Fe to eat in one of 25 restaurants, catch a movie at a VIP cinema or marvel at huge retractable roofs which open like flower petals according to the weather.
The absence of screaming kids is also notable and presumably due to the fact that they have their own purpose built city which is so big it’s not possible to experience everything in just one visit.
If there is a weakness to Santa Fe, it might be that the use of space offers less nooks and crannies in which to go exploring and so the shopping experience is a little repetitive compared to El Tesoro and Oviedo.
