Though small, Pequeño Teatro has become a giant in Medellín’s theatre scene.
This is, perhaps, in virtue of the fact that entry is free with only a voluntary donation collected by the actors at the end of a performance.
Such a socially inclusive philosophy no doubt contributed to Pequeño Teatro being declared a Cultural Heritage Site in 1985.
Founded in 1975, Pequeño Teatro, puts on a diverse range of plays, combining both traditional and modern experimental acts.
Part of its charm is the beautiful open courtyard which leads to the seating area. Pequeño Teatro also has its own cafe, acting school, thematic library and art gallery.
