Parque San Antonio is home to Fernando Botero’s Pájaro de Paz (Bird of Peace) sculpture.
The original sculpture was blown up by a suspected FARC bomb which tragically killed numerous innocent by-standers.
But, instead of replacing or moving the disfigured sculpture, Botero defiantly created an identical and placed it alongside the original.
Other Botero sculptures can be found nearby at Plaza de las Esculturas and Parque Berrio while Museo de Antioquia hosts a large collection of his paintings.
