Parque Lineal de la Presidenta is a green park in the heart of El Poblado.
Anyone with a dog will know that despite its greenery, Medellín doesn’t really do parks. Yet things may change if Parque Lineal de la Presidenta proves to be a successful prototype for inner city public spaces.
Parque Lineal de la Presidenta has a picturesque walkway to Parque Lleras and a quaint river and bridge among its attractions.
Another testament to the Sergio Fajardo’s spirit of transformation, this park emerged to claim a space in some of the most prestigious land in El Poblado during what was a Beijing style building boom in 2007.
Let us hope to see such wonders of nature also emerge in some of the poorer communities of Medellín where land is cheaper and where there’s arguably a higher demand for recreational spaces.
