Parque Berrio is home to the massive bronze woman’s torso known as ‘La Gorda’.
La Gorda was Fernando Botero’s first statue in Medellín and quickly became a reference point for people meeting in El Centro.
La Gorda weighs 2,250 kilos is 2.48 metres high and 1.76 metres wide.
Other Botero sculptures can be found nearby at Plaza de las Esculturas and Parque San Antonio while Museo de Antioquia hosts a large collection of his paintings.
