Inspired by the Loire castles in France, Museo el Castillo is a medieval castle built around 1930.
In 1971 Don Diego Echavarria Misas made his country residence accessible to the general public in order to showcase his collection of paintings, sculptures, china, crystal, furniture and many of his family personal belongings which remained in the castle despite their absence.
Today, concerts, exhibitions and plays are performed in Museo el Castillo’s auditorium, while the grounds also play host to regular courses in painting, sculpture, ceramics and music.
Remarkably, there are no restrictions on people walking their dogs in the beautiful surrounding gardens. So long as you are willing to scoop the poop, your dog can roam free with his very own luxury castle in the heart of El Poblado.
