Mango Maduro is an oasis of calm in an otherwise hectic area of downtown Medellín.
Taking the wooden stairs which wind their way up to Mango Maduro, the hysteria of El Centro melts away and is superseded by high ceilings, big airy windows and colourful tiles.
Mango Maduro is immaculately clean and the food is cheap and tasty with a different set menu served every day for lunch.
Due to some ridiculous legal battle that no one seems to understand the owner previously changed the name of the restaurant to Platano Verde. That said, he no longer seems to care and has vowed to re-paint the front door with the original Mango Maduro name.
