Casa Museo Otraparte was created to preserve and promote the spirit of the late philosopher Fernando González who is considered one of the most original, controversial and influential Colombian writers of the 20th century.
The former house and garden in Envigado, of the man known affectionately as ‘el filósofo de Otraparte’ (the philosopher from somewhere else) is today a museum open to the community free of charge.
Aside from providing a glimpse of his house, Casa Museo Otraparte also offers extensive cultural programming, including readings and alternative cinema while the adjacent El Café de Otraparte is arguably one of the most cultured cafés in Medellín.
